CSF has over 5 decades of experience manufacturing radiators. So when it comes to keeping your engine cool and your N55 Powered BMW running at its best, a CSF High-Performance All-Aluminum Radiator is the obvious choice. Designed to perform on the street or at the track, a performance radiator is a must-have for both high horsepower builds as well as race vehicles which need added cooling performance in motorsports environments. This radiator features a 2-Row core with CSF's exclusive B-Tube Technology: Unlike a regular oval shape "O" type radiator tube, CSF uses a specially engineered tube in the shape of a "B". These "B-tubes" are carefully formed and then brazed over the seam to seal. CSF is able to use thinner and lighter aluminum material (with better cooling efficiency) because this design is actually stronger than normal "O" shape tubes that are welded. The design (inlet in the middle of the tube that is seam brazed) increases the heat transfer surface area of the tubes by approximately 15% over regular tubes - producing the efficiency of two smaller tubes vs. one large tube within the same space criteria. With "B-tubes" you are able to get "dual liquid laminar flow". CSF also uses ultra efficient multi louvered fins that are carefully and precisely aligned to maximize airflow through each radiator core. The CSF N55 Intercooler's Stepped Core Design maximizes surface area contact and internal intake air-flow volume. The Rounded Front Face Bar/Plate Design optimizes airflow through the core and is a true "Drop-in Fit" Plug-and-Play Design. In testing the CSF Intercooler showed Intake Air Temperatures (IATs) that were 38 deg F (21 deg C) lower than factory after just 3 consecutive pulls from 4k RPM to 5.8K RPM. The S55 suffers heavily from heat soak. Many tuners witnessed this early on after doing multiple dyno pulls and seeing significant drops in power after each consecutive pass. Many F8X owners experienced the same loss of power on the track as the engine just could not cool off during laps. The solution is two fold: The Charge-Air-Cooler (CSF #8082/8082R) & Front Mount Heat Exchanger (CSF #8075/8075V) work together to keep the intake temps down and power up. The factory units simply cannot dissipate enough heat to keep up with prolonged performance driving. CSF's Charge-Air-Cooler boasts a core size that is 60% larger, greatly increasing the capacity for heat transfer from the hot charge air coming from the turbos. Like the other cooling systems on the F8X, the factory auxiliary radiators do a pretty good job in stock form. However, once you start adding a lot of power and pushing the car in aggressive driving conditions, the factory systems start to show its limitations. As more and more owners have pushed the limits of their S55, CSF saw the need and demand. The F8X platform is also almost a decade old with the newest examples being at least 5 years old. Over time the original coolers end up with damaged or clogged fins that greatly reduce their cooling capacity.

Compared to the OEM F8X coolers, the CSF units are a significant upgrade. CSF eliminated the OE plastic mounting pod by incorporating it into the modular design that fits both sides. This design improvement increases the size of both the core and tanks. The extra space taken from the mounting pod allowed for a ~7% increase in Core Size and an ~10% increase in Tank Volume. With a larger 2-row 42mm core, cooling efficiency and capacity are drastically increased. The high efficiency core using CSF's Exclusive B-Tube Technology maximizes airflow and heat dissipation. 100% All-Aluminum construction ensures the best performance and durability. The mounting pins and brackets are much stronger and more durable than the OE plastic pod mounting system. In addition, the black finish provides extra protection and offers a stealthy look behind the grilles of your F8X.
